Job Summary:

The Accounts Clerk / Optical Assistant will perform various cashier-related and accounting functions to support the retail store’s daily operations. The designate will also contribute to an exceptional retail experience, selecting the right products for our customers’ eyewear and eyecare needs and providing any after-care services. Previous experience in the optical/retail industry will be considered an asset.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Promote Value Optical Limited consistently as the premier choice for eye examinations; spectacles, contact lenses fittings and all other optical needs.
  • Acts promptly in greeting all customers; asks appropriate questions to ascertain customer needs and acts in accordance with the Company’s policy to ensure that all customer needs are met.
  • Assists customers with the selection of frames by offering commentary on styles and colours, coordinating frames with facial and eye measurements and optical prescriptions.
  • Utilizes creative sales techniques to sell the Company’s offering of lenses, frames, spectacles, contact lenses and related accessories based on identified customer needs.
  • Educates customers on eyeglasses and contact lenses use and care.
  • Accurately records and submits work orders, reports and any other retail documentation as required.
  • Assist with requisition of goods for sale, stationery, and sundry items from Administrative Office to be completed by the given date once per month.
  • Verify patient information for accuracy.
  • Prepare and complete MS Excel Reports.

Qualifications:

  • Must have 1-year minimum Cashier’s experience.
  • Five (5) CSEC passes inclusive of Mathematics and English.
  • Proficient in the use of Excel / Word applications.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, particularly in a fast paced, customer-driven environment will be an asset.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Optical Lab Technician under the general direction of the Lab Manager/ Supervisor participates in all laboratory lens processing activities at our in-house laboratories. The jobholder will be a team-player and will be directly responsible for producing superior lenses on a daily basis ensuring that both the Company’s quality and service delivery standards are met.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Use optical lab management system to obtain job listings and requirements
  • Interpret work orders and instructions for surfacing and edging lenses for the purposes of producing a quality fabricated pair of eyewear
  • Test lens’ prescription using manual and automated lens meter or lens analyzer to verify that the power of the lens blank is surfaced correctly for edging
  • Ensure that all parameters associated with work order are verified for accuracy
  • Ensure in collaboration with Quality Control that finished lenses meet or exceed standards using quality assurance checklist
  • Package finished eyewear for retail distribution
  • Actively monitor all machines used for normal operations, fluid levels and all other observable operating requirements
  • Perform any other job-related duties and responsibilities as assigned by manager or supervisor
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Five (5) C.X.C passes inclusive of Mathematics and English preferably with Grades 1 and 2
  • General knowledge of C.X.C Chemistry and Physics will be an asset
  • Ability to work flexible hours and locations inclusive of Saturday.
  • Must be able to comfortably lift up to 30lbs in weight on a frequent basis
  • Preference given to residents of central Trinidad or environs.

Job Overview

The Social Media Coordinator will manage and execute engaging social media content of Value Optical Limited on all relevant platforms to increase our online presence and create brand awareness.
Job Responsibilities
  • Responsible for managing all social media platforms including, but not limited to Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Twitter, WhatsApp, Google Ads and LinkedIn.
  • Proactively monitor, capture, and respond to customer concerns through online reviews, messages, inquiries, and comments.
  • Manage and maintain a content calendar to ensure timely and consistent postings that align with our overall marketing goals and objectives across all platforms.
  • Monitor social media metrics regularly to measure performance e.g., audience traffic, engagement and awareness, as well as identify areas for improvement and report to key stakeholders.
  • Present weekly and/or monthly social media metrics and reports as needed.
  • Keep current with the latest social media trends, tools and best practices and make recommendations for optimizing our social media presence.
Qualifications / Skills
  • Passion for social media and proficient with major social media platforms and social media management tools.
  • 3-5 years demonstrable track record of managing campaigns, growing, and engaging audiences.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

Branch Supervisor
The Branch Supervisor is responsible for the general management and strategic direction of the patient service team in the branch. The incumbent will be the administrative lead in all management aspects of the branch operations. He/She will use strategic planning, forecasting and execute processes and procedures with sound judgement and expertise, and charismatic approaches to motivate the team towards operational efficiency and patient service excellence. Responsibility includes matters relating to Administration, Human Resource, Marketing and Accounting with full reporting to the Retail Operations Manager.
Job Description
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
ADMINISTRATION:
1. Supervise and maintain store administration, i.e., inventory, equipment, and staff as a cohesive unit to maintain patient satisfaction.
2. Prepare weekly staff roster to ensure the store is staffed to facilitate timely opening and closing of the store.
3. Monitor patient bookings and patient flow to ensure delivery of service to grow customer base, which would assist in the generation of promotional ideas for the effective marketing of the store.
4. Ensure that the store is properly secured daily at close of business and the assigned security system is activated.
5. Ensure that all safety procedures / processes are practiced and adhered to (e.g., cabinets with frames are always locked, Accounts Clerk (cashier) office door is always locked, etc.).
6. Ensure proper housekeeping and cleanliness of store and address all maintenance and equipment concerns on a timely basis.
7. Collaborate with the Optician in making decisions of a technical nature to aid in the timely resolution of patient concerns/ complaints.
8. Arrange monthly staff meetings to address areas of departmental / staff concerns and updates, with the accompanying documentation i.e., agenda and meeting minutes.
9. Attend monthly Managers/Team Leaders meetings.
10. Timely/orderly maintenance of files and records of all reports i.e., minutes, memos, correspondence, and any other documents for audit.
HUMAN RESOURCE
1. Implement team building and motivational initiatives (with the guidance of Retail Management) through coaching and effective management of staff to deliver quality eye care products and services that would sustain an exceptional customer experience.
2. Recommend timely training requests via performance improvement plans (PIP) or performance appraisal to Retail Management.
3. Conduct performance appraisals for team on a bi-annual basis, ensuring timely submissions within set deadlines.
4. Ensure any disciplinary matters are promptly addressed, documented, and forwarded to Retail Management on a timely basis.
5. Consult with the Human Resource Officer to ensure that all disciplinary matters are handled in accordance with our company’s policy and procedures and in keeping with Industrial Relations (IR) practices.
6. Review and verify for submission, daily time reporting sheets and to the attention of Human Resource Department within two (2) days.
7. Leave of Absence forms e.g., casual and vacation leave requests must be completed, approved, and submitted to Human Resources Department no later than the 15th day of the previous month. Leave of Absence Forms due to illness are to be submitted on the day staff returns to work, with medical attached as required.
ACCOUNTING
1. Verify accuracy of cash with Accounts Clerk (cashier) on opening of safe / deposits prepared for pick up by courier and cash locked up on evenings. Liaise with the Accountant at Head Office on any accounting matter that needs to be addressed.
2. Ensure that all items leaving the store have the required invoice even if product is a no charge item in keeping with company procedures.
3. All staff and/or immediate dependents purchases are billed at Head Office.
4. Works with Retail Management to ensure the monthly achievement of assigned branch targets.
SUNDRY
1. Provide information and assist with queries in a courteous, professional, and efficient manner.
2. Prepare reports as requested by Retail Management.
3. Assist the Accounting Department with inventory count at stores on a quarterly basis.
4. Perform any other duties associated with the unit which may or may not be related to the above functions as directed by the Retail Operations Manager.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Management Studies or related field.
2. At least Five (5) Years’ experience in customer service at a managerial level
3. Must be MS Office Proficient
