Pre-Screening
On the day of your visit, after being greeted by our Customer Service representative, our optician’s or optical assistants will help you to complete a pre-screening assessment which performs Retinal Imaging, Pressure Test and determines your visual fields. This aids the optometrist as it gives them a current snapshot of your eyes condition before a prescription.
Optometrist Consultation & Prescription
An eye examination is carried out by an optometrist and usually takes about 20 – 30 minutes (but may take longer if extra specific tests are required) and will normally include the following elements:
Optician/Optical Sales Assistant
When you have your prescription made up, you will be given help in choosing spectacles or contact lenses. If you choose contact lenses you will be given advice on the various types of lenses available, the procedures for fitting lenses and further information about caring for and cleaning your lenses.
The Optician or optical sales assistant will help you in selecting the proper frame for you based on your fashion style and lifestyle or work requirements. They will ensure a frame is selected that will properly fit the prescription given.
The optical assistant will calculate the total cost of your spectacle and then direct you to the cashier.
If you are not satisfied with your spectacles or contact lenses, make sure that you contact your branch so that the matter can be dealt with promptly.
The cashier is the final step before production of your spectacle begins. We accept cash, linx, and credit card payments at all our branches.
To begin production, we require that patients pay the cost of the lens and the balance upon collection of the spectacle.
Frame Collection – Dispensary
This is the final step of your glasses purchase and allows for our Opticians to properly fit your new glasses onto your face. Spectacle care instructions would also be demonstrated at this time.
